Yet most go unrecognised — their work confined to campus notice boards while the rest of Kenya misses their story. That gap is exactly why the Jamhuri Africa Campus & TVET Awards was born.
A Platform Built for Campus Kenya
Most national awards focus on corporate executives and established celebrities. The Jamhuri Africa Campus & TVET Awards celebrates the student union president running a food drive, the TVET graduate pioneering new skills in their county, the campus entrepreneur building a startup from a hostel room.
Why "Jamhuri"?
"Jamhuri" means republic in Swahili — representing the collective power of the people. It reflects the belief that Kenya's future is shaped in its classrooms and campus halls long before it reaches boardrooms and parliament.
The 2026 Edition
The 2026 edition launches with 10 award groups, 106 categories, free nominations open now, public voting July 1–August 1, and the Grand Gala on September 26, 2026 at Southfield Mall, Nairobi.
